About Reginald

Reginald is a native of the Washington, D.C. area, and is part of an elite group of highly gifted musicians from this rich region. His major musical credits include performing keyboards with Grammy winner CeCe Winans for five years. Among the highlights of his tenure with her are their trip during the Clinton presidency to the White House for "An Evening with CeCe Winans," which aired throughout 1999 and 2000 on PBS. He accompanied her to the legendary Apollo Theater in New York for the United Negro College Fund's annual Evening of Stars, and they performed before more than 50,000 in St. Louis and Indianapolis in 1999 at the Billy Graham crusades. He ended 1999 - and his residence in Nashville - on CeCe's Christmas concert tour, with her special guests Lamar Campbell and Spirit of Praise.

Reginald's travels with CeCe also afforded the opportunity to accompany gospel powerhouses Fred Hammond and Kirk Franklin, while a performance with Dove Award winner Anointed meant playing with percussionist Sheila E. A Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) taping, where he headed the band for Donnie McClurkin, also afforded the opportunity to play with Yolanda Adams and Marvin Winans.

Off road, he has done extensive studio work, particularly with Verity Records artists and projects, including Stellar and Dove Award nominee Virtue (was also band leader on several live shows) and Stellar Award winner Maurette Brown-Clark. He appears on The Real Meaning of Christmas, Volumes II and III, on which his contributions spanned the roles of producer, keyboardist, arranger, and background vocalist. He was also a keyboardist, arranger, and background vocalist for Verity's cross-genre collaboration, "Bridges."

An anchor of the "Bridges" project, a remake of the Isley Brother's classic Caravan of Love, features Reginald on keyboards and Hammond organ, alongside Commissioned's Marvin Sapp, contemporary christian great Bob Carlisle (Butterfly Kisses), and saxophonist Kirk Whalum. This song also appears on the platinum selling WOW Gospel 2000 compilation. A performance with Maurette Brown-Clark, Follow Me, appears on the platinum selling WOW Gospel 1999 compilation.

Reginald has been involved in the recording of several independent recording projects, performing the roles of producer, writer, arranger, keyboardist, and background vocalist. He has worked live and in the studio with one of instrumental gospel's most notable independent artists, guitarist Roland Gresham. He is comitted to furthering the music ministry of local independent artists, and has produced projects for and with Washington, D.C. area artists including Angela Bryant-Brown, Denise Barclay, Nathelene McMillan-Moore, Anika-Tene', Lauri & Regina and Loren Mulraine of the Breath of Life Quartet.

In 2001, Reginald joined with his sister, Regina, to form The Reid Project. Under that moniker, he released "Life Stories," a jazz-inspired album which features his intimate songwriting and unsung vocal talents coupled with those of his sister. This project was nominated in 2002 for a WAMMIE award, which is given by local musicians, singers, engineers, etc.

He was the music director at Community Praise Center in Alexandria, Va. for six years, stepping down in August '06. CPC experienced a period of tremendous growth in music ministry during his tenure, with its reputation for leadership in worship and music spreading across the country. He is currently the music director of Restoration Praise Center, formerly The Bowie Project, a very vibrant new congregation which was planted by CPC.

Reginald is a graduate of Oakwood College in Huntsville, Alabama, from which he attained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. He began his musical training at the age of 8, studying until age 16 under Ms. Esther Wroten of Wash., DC.
